Rachel Feinstein
Rachel Feinstein's oeuvre is characterized by a diversity of media and influences. Her elaborate installations, sculptures, drawings, and paintings always revolve around the themes of femininity, beauty, and literature. In doing so, Feinstein mixes elements of various stylistic periods, preferably from the Baroque and Rococo eras, with those of Christian iconography, traditional fairy tales, and contemporary cartoons. The construction of fantastical, multi-dimensional environments is integral to Feinstein's practice. In 2018, she drew inspiration from Franz Anton Bustelli's Rococo pedestals and translated them into life-size garden sculptures. "Maiden, Mother, Crone" was the Jewish Museum New York's first retrospective of the artist's work in 2020. Feinstein lives and works in New York, where she and her husband, the painter John Currin, are prominent figures on the fashion and art scene.
Porzellan Manufaktur nymphenburg
Nymphenburg ist die letzte Reinstmanufaktur ihrer Art. Seit der Gründung im Jahre 1747 wird in der Manufaktur des Bayerischen Königshauses die hohe Kunst der Porzellanherstellung gepflegt. Manu factum bedeutet dort bis zum heutigen Tage: komplett von Hand gemacht in Techniken, die von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben und bewahrt werden.
