Gilding

Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg uses only platinum and 24-carat fine gold - which is much thicker than bright gold. In this way, Nymphenburg guarantees the highest quality and durability of the decorations. Gilded sections and decorations with platinum that come out of the kiln dull and lackluster after firing are brought to a high gloss by the manufactory's experienced polishers with the help of agate and blood stones. Hardly anyone suspects that polishing takes three times as much time as painting. But only the final polish completes a Nymphenburg original with its characteristic features: the white of the porcelain in combination with the noble shine of gold or platinum.
Porzellan Manufaktur nymphenburg
