SUSPENDED STATE The past two weeks have been quiet: hardly any emails, calls only from dear friends, many restaurants and shops closed. Those who could perhaps got away, breathed ice-cold sea air and shared baguette crumbs with the seagulls in the morning. These were days filled with crunching steps in sand or snow, little clouds of breath in front of your mouth, and eyes squinting into the clear winter sun. A suspended state that settled over spirits as gently as a silk scarf. Between Christmas abundance and New Year's resolutions, there was space to let thoughts wander: What is still possible? Which switches do you want to flip? And on which tracks are the old rails still reliable? This dreaming, this envisioning of utopias may gladly go into overtime. The future? Is made from courage. |
