Wim Delvoye
With subversive irony, Wim Delvoye questions the standardized values of a consumerist society. In 1997 he started the project "Art Farm", in which he tattooed living pigs with skulls, crosses, but also Louis Vuitton logos to "literally increase" their value. His best-known projects also include "Cloaca," a room-sized digestion machine that converts food into feces, and also his "Gothic Works," oversized laser-cut steel sculptures designed in the 17th-century Flemish Baroque style. Here, concrete mixers or rockets bear meticulously crafted ornaments and details of Gothic architecture. Most recently, Delvoye made headlines when he submitted three concepts for the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral. Wim Delvoye, born in 1965, lives and works in Belgium.
Porzellan Manufaktur nymphenburg
Nymphenburg ist die letzte Reinstmanufaktur ihrer Art. Seit der Gründung im Jahre 1747 wird in der Manufaktur des Bayerischen Königshauses die hohe Kunst der Porzellanherstellung gepflegt. Manu factum bedeutet dort bis zum heutigen Tage: komplett von Hand gemacht in Techniken, die von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben und bewahrt werden.
