German Excellence in Dialogue: Seven Brands Discuss the Future of Design Culture

Munich, 13 March 2026 – On the occasion of Münchner Stoff Frühling and the Munich Design Days, seven brands from Germany’s design and high-end industry gathered for a special evening of exchange. The event was hosted by MEISTERKREIS, the platform representing leading entrepreneurs and companies within the high-end sector.

Together with Walter Knoll, Sattler, Occhio, Nymphenburg, Luiz, Kettnaker and Jan Kath Design, MEISTERKREIS welcomed representatives from the press, trade and the international design community for a dialogue on the future of design culture.

At the centre of the evening was a key question:
How can German Excellence remain relevant – and how can it continue to inspire future generations?

The evening brought together entrepreneurs, designers and industry experts in an open and engaging atmosphere. Perspectives from the worlds of furniture, lighting, textiles, porcelain and interior design revealed the creative potential that arises when craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and design converge.

“German Excellence shows its particular strength wherever entrepreneurship, design and craftsmanship come together. The exchange between different disciplines opens new perspectives for innovation and collaboration,”
says Clemens Pflanz, Founder and Chairman of MEISTERKREIS.

In the international arena, this connection is becoming increasingly important. Germany’s high-end industry combines traditional craftsmanship with technological development and a clear design philosophy. Collaborations and dialogue between brands, creatives and entrepreneurs generate new impulses for products, business models and partnerships.

The evening in Munich made one thing clear:
German Excellence thrives on encounters, ideas and a shared vision for the future.

“It is a great pleasure to bring together companies that share a strong connection to their place of origin. Shaping the future of German Excellence together and responding to the wishes of interior professionals is therefore a matter close to our hearts – continuing to develop cultural heritage through contemporary design.”
