Karen Kilimnik

At the core of Karen Kilimnik's work is the interplay between romantic tradition and consumer culture. Undaunted, she cultivates her sense of romance and always maintains a critical eye - well aware - of human longings and projections directed at highly acclaimed works of fine art, but also at celebrities and superstars of the ephemeral world of pop culture. Her work transposes the real world into a cosmos of daydreams and memories - which can at times seem gentler, at times more threatening than reality. Her edition ROMANTIC SUBLIME for Nymphenburg was presented at Art Basel 2010 and sold out within a short time. Karen Kilimnik (b. 1955) lives and works in Philadelphia.
Porzellan Manufaktur nymphenburg
